Real wedding at Glangrwyney Court, Crickhowell
Located between the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains, Glangrwyney Court is just perfect for relaxed weddings. Take a look at all the details – beautiful wild flowers, a stunning dress and all the lovely decorations. I loved the bride’s dress and the look on the groom’s face when he saw her walking down the aisle. He couldn’t stop his tears and that was one of the most touching moments during that wedding.
The emotional groom
We have photographed about two hundred weddings so far and the emotional grooms are still so rare. Which is a shame because I really like pictures of the groom with a tear or two… It just shows how much he loves her.

Best photo moments at Glangrwyney Court
- A calm “arriving” set (don’t skip this bit)
Glangrwyney Court has that proper “we’ve escaped to the countryside” feeling the second people arrive. We always love photographing those first five minutes: guests stepping out of cars, the venue reveal, hugs happening before anyone’s even fully clocked they’re at a wedding. It sets the tone, and it’s the kind of story detail you’ll really love later.

- 10 minutes of portraits with the landscape feel
You don’t need a long photoshoot here. The magic is in a quick wander – 10 minutes, tops – using the grounds and that Brecon Beacons/Black Mountains atmosphere to give your portraits a big, cinematic feel while still keeping them relaxed and totally “you”. We’ll keep it light, natural, and then get you straight back to your people.

- Group photos that don’t steal your day
If you want group photos, the secret is simple: keep it short and keep it moving. We recommend a small “must-have” list (around 8–10 groups), and we’ll pick a flattering spot so it doesn’t turn into a long queue. You get the family photos you need, without sacrificing the fun part of the day.
- Speeches: reactions > posing (this venue is made for it)
This is a venue where the best images often happen in the reactions – the laughter, the tears, the faces your friends make when they’ve had a drink and a microphone. We photograph speeches like a documentary scene: not just the speaker, but the whole room living it with you.
- One “wow” portrait after dark (if the weather allows)
If it’s dry (or even just not horizontal rain), we love stepping outside for literally two minutes for one night-time portrait. It’s not a big production, just a quick, romantic moment that feels a bit cinematic, a bit magical, and a gorgeous contrast to the daylight story.

Late summer Glangrwyney Court wedding Crickhowell
Our couple was lucky enough to have the most amazing late summer weather with the softest and warmest light – perfection! If you add a beautiful bride and some stunning backdrops – you are one of the happiest photographers in the world. Wedding guests had the best time playing the garden games, posing for some iphone photos and dancing. Dancing a lot because the band was amazing. A perfect wedding day filled with love, laughter, happiness, friendship and great music!
