Why We Fell in Love with St Audries Park
The moment we arrived, we understood why St Audries Park wedding photography is so popular.
Set within 100 acres of Somerset countryside, this beautiful country house has everything you’d expect from a classic English wedding venue – elegant architecture, perfectly kept gardens and views that seem to stretch forever. But somehow, it never feels intimidating. It feels welcoming.
What really stood out to us was how much variety there is without ever leaving the grounds. Within just a few minutes’ walk, you can move from formal gardens to open countryside, from grand interiors to quiet little corners that feel completely private. Every part of the venue has its own personality, giving couples a gallery that feels wonderfully varied without ever feeling rushed.
The Victorian Orangery is an absolute highlight. Bright, airy and filled with natural light, it’s one of those ceremony spaces that doesn’t need much dressing because the architecture speaks for itself. It’s elegant without being overwhelming, allowing the focus to stay exactly where it should be – on the two people getting married.

One of our favourite things about St Audries Park wedding photography is just how dramatically the atmosphere changes throughout the day.
The morning felt beautifully calm. Everything was clean, elegant and understated. Soft neutral colours, timeless styling, fresh flowers, and just the right amount of sparkle from the disco balls dotted around the venue. It was classic, sophisticated and wonderfully relaxed.
As the day unfolded, guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine, heartfelt speeches and one of those golden evenings where nobody wanted to go inside. And then…
The music started.
Within minutes, the elegant country house had transformed into one of the biggest parties we’ve photographed all year. The disco balls suddenly made perfect sense. Shoes disappeared. Jackets came off. The dance floor filled from the very first song and stayed that way all night. It was joyful, slightly chaotic, completely unfiltered, and exactly the kind of celebration we love documenting.
As documentary wedding photographers, this is our favourite part of every wedding. When everyone forgets about the cameras, lets their hair down and simply enjoys the moment.
