Glasbury and Hay-on-Wye wedding photographers
Glasbury wedding photography is a dream if you love countryside backdrops, real emotion, and that relaxed Wales-on-the-border energy. We’re Marta May Photography – also known as The Mays (Marta + Artur), a husband and wife team based in Hereford, right on the doorstep of Wales.
We photograph weddings in a DOCU-ART way: honest documentary moments (the laughs, the happy tears, the chaos) blended with cinematic portraits that still feel natural and totally you.

Glasbury + Hay-on-Wye photo tips (quick wins)
- If you’re marrying in a church, plan 2–3 minutes of “breathing space” after the ceremony so you’re not rushed into confetti/receiving line.
- Golden hour here is ridiculous – even 8–10 minutes away from guests makes a huge difference.
- Marquees photograph best with warm lighting (think fairy lights + candles) – it keeps skin tones flattering and the party vibe cosy.

Hay-on-Wye photo session
This Glasbury wedding day was really amazing. Happy couple, perfect weather – what else could a wedding photographer ask for? The wedding ceremony took place in Glasbury church and the wedding reception was held in a beautiful marquee. Just before the golden hour we took our couple for a ride and we had a lovely wedding session in Hay-on-Wye.

Glasbury wedding photography – kind words
Here’s what Beth & Daniel shared about their experience with us – and why they loved having a calm, documentary approach on the day:
“Marta & Artur really know how to do their job above and beyond for their clients. Not only are their photos amazing but it was the before and after care that they gave which really impressed me. If we had any questions, they would answer – nothing was too much trouble.
They are truly unique and we cant express how pleased we were with them both. Professional, knowledgeable and our wedding really did matter to them. Thank you both so much, we are forever grateful!”

Why did they book us?
“We booked Marta May for their AMAZING customer service, hard work, knowledge and unique talent in taking photographs. Marta was always at the end of a email or message and when we had our engagement photo shoot she made us feel completely at ease. We gave her our details for the wedding day and she and Artur just got on with it.
Their style of photography is so unique, capturing the true emotion of our wedding day and totally natural. I really loved reading her blogs on her website, especially the one about the perfect confetti shot. So informative and also helped me to decide on the best confetti to use for our day. Marta May Photography is one of the best photographers I have seen and I wish them all the success in the future.”
P.S. Today you might recognise us as The Mays from TWIA – we were TWIA National Winners in 2023 and we’re now TWIA judges.
