Homme House as a wedding venue
This venue has so many amazing spaces that couples and their guests can use and here’s just a short list of what’s available, supported by our images:
The Panelled Room
In less than ideal weather conditions, the authentic Georgian panelling and impressive Jacobean fireplace provide a stunning setting for photographs, and the polished oak floor offers an ideal space for showcasing your dance moves during the evening.
The Hall
The Hall is a stunning location with its grand staircase offering a remarkable entrance. Serving as the bar’s home, it functions as a social center all day long and serves as a picturesque backdrop for wedding cake cutting and bouquet tossing.
The Dining Room
The Dining Room is the grandest among the reception rooms at Homme House, providing a sophisticated setting for a wedding breakfast.
The Library
Filled with an array of books, decorations, and cherished family portraits, the Library serves as a captivating setting for photographs and a comfortable space to unwind by the fireplace or partake in an impromptu sing-along during a piano recital.
The Main Suite & The Drawing Room
The Main Suite at Homme House is located at the top of the grand staircase in a private wing of the house. It features bay windows that offer views of the gardens and parkland. The bedroom is filled with natural light and includes a four poster bed, en suite bathroom, and an adjoining Drawing Room, providing ample space for pre-wedding preparations and luxurious accommodation on the night.
The Grounds
Homme House is not only the house – just take a look at what else is available to you and your guests on your wedding day. St. Bartholomews Church features a private drive that meanders through historic parkland, passing lakes and woodland to unveil the house and untouched rural views.
Their five acres of gardens offer year-round interest, with snowdrops and daffodils in early spring, followed by bluebells, tulips, and wisterias in spring and early summer. The walled garden, wildflower meadow, and vibrant autumn colors of the woodland glades and parkland trees complete the seasonal beauty.
The Main Lawn at Homme House
The Main Lawn offers ample space and a level surface, making it perfect for hosting a fete or garden games. It also serves as an ideal setting for a wedding ceremony or dining area, whether you opt for a formal marquee or a simple and intimate afternoon tea.
Cherry Walk and the Water Garden
Beneath the Lawn, visitors and couples have the opportunity to explore Cherry Walk, leading to the tranquil Water Garden and Bog Garden, featuring a concealed swing seat. This area is one of our favourite wedding photography backdrops.
The Rose Garden
The Upper Lawn guides visitors through a charming wisteria-covered entrance to the peaceful Rose Garden, ideal for private ceremonies. Abundant with fragrant, decorative roses, it also features a remarkable magnolia tree and a beech arch that leads to the expansive 2-acre Walled Garden.
The Walled Garden and the Summerhouse
The Walled Garden, spanning two acres, is a cherished project that offers something of interest in every season. Notable features include an espalier walkway showcasing old Herefordshire apple varieties, long borders, pleached hornbeam, and a captivating wild flower meadow.
The highlight of the Walled Garden is the Grade I listed 17th century Summerhouse. Rescued from near collapse in 2011, it has been beautifully restored and now serves as a distinctive setting for wedding ceremonies, reception drinks, and an enchanting overnight retreat for romantics.
The Woods
The woods at Homme House are a sight to behold all year round, adorned with a carpet of bluebells in spring, bathed in dappled sunlight through the beech trees in summer, and bursting with vibrant colors in the fall.
The Parkland
The parkland provides a picturesque setting for capturing photographs, especially when the grass is tall and teeming with wildflowers. It’s definitely worth the additional effort to have the opportunity to admire Homme House from afar.
Your big day at Homme House
So, let’s take a closer look at Homme House and let’s imagine your wedding there, shall we?
GETTING READY – THE BRIDE
You will love the bridal suite because of all the available space there. You can even use the room next door for make up and hair preparations and keep the bridal suite ready just for the finishing touches and some beautiful pictures. That means – all bags, shoes and other, from a photographer point of view, distracting things can stay next door. Awesome stuff! And just look at this beautiful staircase!
GETTING READY – THE GROOM
The coach house is a great choice for the groom and the groomsmen. Plenty of space to get ready!
THE CEREMONY
There are so many various options and this is another reason why Homme House weddings rock. You can have the civil ceremony in Homme House’s beautiful Panelled Room that can seat about 90 guests.
Or you can go for the beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Summer House. After the main ceremony you just pop upstairs and sign the necessary legal paperwork while your guests enjoy the music and the beautiful views across the Malverns.
You can also go for the church ceremony. St. Bartholomew’s church is located 0.6 miles from Homme House and it looks beautiful! Or you can choose your own church and then drive back to Homme House. The views on the way back to Homme House are just stunning! Just take a look at Jo & Will’s wedding day to find out what I mean.
CONFETTI MOMENT
Plenty of options here too… as you leave the church, the summer house and the beautiful Homme House as well. This venue is so stunning that your confetti photos will look amazing anywhere!
RECEPTION DRINKS & GARDEN GAMES
Homme House is perfect for both sunny and rainy wedding days. If the weather is lovely, your guests can enjoy the beautiful views, sit on the lawn and play garden games. But you also have to have a plan B, right? No problem – I’m sure your guests will be totally in love with the Library. They will enjoy sitting by the fireplace and chatting to their friends. So cozy!
THE GROUP PICTURES
YOUR PHOTOS – so many options!
If you’re happy to experiment, there is so many stunning locations at Homme House. I’ve already mentioned the sunken garden, one of our favorite spots ever. Plus next to the garden there is a wildflower meadow and the woodland.
The meadow is just perfect for some golden hour pictures! Of course we mustn’t forget about the beautiful area around the summer house! At night we can do a bit of light painting and also use the library and the staircase at Homme House too!
WEDDING BREAKFAST AND THE SPEECHES
The Dining Room is a perfect choice for smaller celebrations and the Marquee is great if you are planning a really big party. Also, during the summer, you can open the marquee and enjoy the beautiful fresh air as well as the views.
DANCING AND EVENING FUN
As I’ve already mentioned several times, Homme House weddings rock! There is no doubt about it! Your band or DJ can set up both in the Panelled Room and in the Dining Room and there is still plenty of space for your guests to try their own unique dance moves ;-) We love this part of the day and we would love to stay longer and capture this for you.
