This 18th Century barn, owned by the family-run Cripps & Co, built with the famous Cotswold stone, has a vibe that’s all about romance and calmness, making it a perfect spot for couples to say “I do” and celebrate their love. A dream to photograph!
We fell in love with Cripps Barn the moment we saw it and documented our first wedding there. This venue is quirky, spacious, atmospheric… simply amazing!

As soon as you step onto the property, Cripps Barn grabs your attention with its charming vibe. The outside is decked out with beautiful greenery and rolling hills, making it the perfect backdrop for a super special day and awesome photos.
Inside, the barn’s roomy and unique layout makes it even more appealing, giving you lots of space for celebrations while still feeling cozy. You’ll find flagstone floors, rustic beams, and a big open fireplace here.

So how does the wedding day look this venue?
GETTING READY
Cripps Barn celebrations come together with a perfect mix of nature’s beauty and laid-back elegance. When the day kicks off, soon-to-be brides and grooms can get ready for their special day in a bunch of lovely spots, from the quaint Montreal House in Barnsley to the cozy confines of The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns.
Other locations that can also be used to enjoy the morning are Bothy and Sycamore at Arlington, Bibury or Notgrove Holiday Cottages in Cheltenham.
For this reason, Cripps Barn wedding photography from the morning of your wedding can be really interesting. That’s why it is nice to have two photographers to also capture the groom getting ready in a different location.
THE CEREMONY
Now it’s time to photograph the ceremony at Cripps Barn. Everyone’s buzzing with excitement as friends and family come together. When it kicks off, it’s truly something special. With the gorgeous Cotswold stone walls of the barn in the background, couples share their vows in a cozy glow, wrapped in the love of those around them.
The main barn is the spot for all the ceremonies. It has this super cool vintage feel with its stone walls, a medieval chandelier, a big fireplace, and two huge entrances that let in tons of light. It can hold 120 guests, plus there’s room for 30 more in the Oak Room, where you can still catch the ceremony.
And if you’re into outdoor weddings, they’ve got an Oak Pavilion in the garden for those sunny days. All the options are totally picture perfect!
THE CONFETTI
After the ceremony guests spill out into the cute surroundings, stopping for a quick moment to enjoy the confetti shower – here are some of our top tips about the best wedding confetti, have a look!
Just after the ceremony you will wait in the small room next to the ceremony room and we will organize your guests outside. What colour confetti would you choose? Have a look and select your favourite. Cripps Barn only allows fresh petals.
RECEPTION DRINKS AND THE GROUP PICTURES
Cripps Barn is just ideal – amazing views, delicious food, music in the background – perfection! That’s why we also don’t want to spoil this vibe, so we plan the group pictures well in advance and they are so much fun! We know a few tricks to make the whole ‘formal group pictures’ experience enjoyable.
COUPLE PHOTOS
As the sun starts to set, painting the Cotswold landscape with a warm golden glow, it’s time for some amazing wedding portraits. With tons of photo spots and great lighting (you are really spoilt for choice here), Cripps Barn is a wedding photographer’s dream, where every little nook is a chance to snap real emotions and special moments.
The Cripps Barn grounds are just as beautiful as the barn, making it the perfect spot for couple’s photos. When you open the huge glass and timber door, you step out onto a spacious terrace with stunning views of the Cotswold countryside and their woodland garden, where you can find fire pits and a big bonfire.
WEDDING BREAKFAST AND THE SPEECHES
The barn’s spacious interior provides the perfect canvas for a delicious breakfast, where guests are treated to the offerings that Cripps Barn is renowned for.
The chefs whip up amazing wedding feasts, grilling food on a huge rotisserie and BBQ. They believe in using top-notch ingredients, cooking them in a straightforward way, and serving up big portions.
EVENING PARTY
But the magic doesn’t end there. When night rolls in, the barn turns into a fun dance floor, where the newlyweds and their friends groove under the sparkling lights. With plenty of space and a lively vibe, Cripps Barn keeps the party going well into the night, making unforgettable memories.
Plus, in the evenings, they light up fire pits outside, so guests can chill and chat. Sip drinks under the stars and roast marshmallows while you stretch out the day for as long as possible. We love capturing those natural moments with our cameras!
