 About the photographers

We’re Marta May Photography – also known as The Mays (Marta + Artur) – a husband-and-wife team shooting weddings across the Cotswolds with our DOCU-ART approach (documentary heart + cinematic portraits). We’re TWIA National Winners (as The Mays) and now TWIA judges, and we’re quietly obsessed with telling the full story: the nerves, the laughs, the happy tears, and the carefree dance-floor chaos at the end.

Favourite photo spots at Blackwell Grange

  • Confetti outside the Thatch Barn – the happiest, loudest “WE DID IT” moment, with everyone already gathered and buzzing.
  • The lawns + garden paths – perfect for calm, natural portraits (and those little in-between moments when you’re just walking and laughing together).
  • The Moon Gate / walled garden feel – a clean, cinematic backdrop that looks timeless in any season and keeps portraits relaxed (no long walk needed).
  • Twilight outside the Orchard Barn – five minutes at the end of golden hour gives you that cosy, end-of-day glow, with the venue lights starting to twinkle behind you.

Our tip: we’ll do portraits in tiny pockets – a quick 5–10 minutes after the ceremony, then a 5-minute twilight moment later – so you never miss the party.

The reception

After the ceremony, it’s time for your reception! The stylish and contemporary Orchard Barn provides an elegant setting for your celebrations. As wedding photographers we also love the helical staircase leading up to the Snug. It just gives us some truly unique angles for your wedding photos.

Your wedding breakfast for up to 150 guests is served in the Orchard Barn and this is also a great and bright space for the speeches. Just perfect, as it doesn’t need any extra lighting so you won’t see any photography tripods which is a great bonus (the more natural the better, right?)
