It didn’t feel like an English country house hosting an Indian celebration. It felt like the venue and the wedding belonged together. Three Outfits, One Beautiful Story

One of the joys of photographing this Sezincote House wedding was watching the story unfold through three completely different looks. It all began the evening before with the Mehndi ceremony. As intricate henna patterns slowly appeared across the bride’s hands, family and friends gathered to celebrate the start of the wedding festivities. The atmosphere was relaxed, colourful and full of excitement, less about tradition as a performance, and more about everyone simply enjoying being together.

The following day brought another transformation. For the ceremony, the bride wore a breathtaking red wedding outfit, perfectly complementing the incredible floral mandap and the rich colours of the gardens. Against the backdrop of Sezincote’s Indian-inspired architecture, it felt as though every detail belonged exactly where it was. Then, after the ceremony, another outfit change.

As guests wandered through the gardens during reception drinks, the bride reappeared in a fresh new look, bringing a completely different feel to the afternoon. It was a lovely reminder that Hindu weddings naturally tell their story in chapters, each one with its own atmosphere, traditions and emotions.

One of the Most Beautiful Mandaps We’ve Ever Photographed

We’ve photographed quite a few Hindu weddings, and we don’t say this lightly… This was one of the most beautiful mandaps we’ve ever seen.

Completely covered in flowers, it sat perfectly within the gardens at Sezincote House, almost as though it had always belonged there. Surrounded by colour, sunshine and the beautiful Indian-inspired architecture of the house itself, it created an unforgettable setting for the ceremony.

What made it even more special was how naturally everything flowed. Guests gathered around the mandap, children wandered through the gardens, family moved quietly between traditions, and there was this wonderful feeling that everyone was completely immersed in the moment. As Sezincote House wedding photography goes, it doesn’t get much better than this.

The ceremony itself was full of colour, movement and emotion. Every ritual, every smile and every burst of laughter unfolded naturally, giving us endless opportunities for documentary wedding photography without ever interrupting the celebration. And this ceremony was the perfect example.

One thing we always tell our couples is this: Your wedding day shouldn’t revolve around your photography. It should revolve around the people you’ve invited to celebrate with you. For this Sezincote House wedding, the couple made that decision right from the beginning. They didn’t want to disappear for an hour exploring every corner of the gardens. They wanted to spend their afternoon with family and friends, and we completely supported that.

So we kept it beautifully simple.

We wandered through a few of our favourite spots around the house and gardens, created a handful of relaxed portraits together, and then headed straight back to the celebrations. And honestly? We never felt like we needed more.

Sezincote is one of those venues where almost every direction is beautiful. You don’t have to walk for miles or tick off a list of famous photo locations to create something special. A few quiet minutes, lovely light, and two people enjoying the fact they’ve just got married are often all you need.

There was something beautifully timeless about everything around us. The historic house. The colourful ceremony. The soft afternoon light drifting through the gardens. Guests wandering between conversations, music and laughter without anyone feeling rushed. Film slows you down.

You stop chasing hundreds of frames and start looking for the ones that really matter. A quiet glance. A hand gently adjusting a veil. The bride walking through the gardens in her third outfit.
