Winter weddings
About wedding photographers
We are a husband and wife photographic duo based in Hereford, UK. Having photographed many winter weddings we just fell in love with them. Our wedding photography style is natural and relaxed and we also love creativity. Winter celebrations allow for lots of creative night portraits.
What’s good about winter weddings?
LESS STRESS
When you are planning your summer wedding, you assume the weather is going to be nice. That’s why you worry more because what if it rains? Winter weddings are generally planned to take place inside and the rainy wedding problem is sorted.
As wedding photographers we love all weather conditions but we also much prefer the more relaxed weddings.
MORE VENUE DATES
Winter weddings are not as popular as spring and summer ones. That’s why more dates are available during winter months. Wedding venue rates are also lower so what’s not to like? Same with travel and accommodation – the prices are lower too!
A professional advice from a wedding photographer? Choose a local one! This way you will be sure that your photographer will arrive to photograph your day even if it snows.
BLACK TIE WEDDING
Winter weddings are the best time for black tie. Tuxedos weren’t meant for outdoor ceremonies and summer garden receptions. If you are a big fan of stunning sequin dresses – this is the time to use it.
As wedding photographers we also love elegant weddings. Here’s one example of a stunning autumn black tie wedding at Lemore Manor.
And here’s an example of a hot summer black tie wedding at Homme House. We would LOVE to photograph a winter one too!
NO SWEAT
Summer weddings are stunning but they can get really hot and sweaty. So if you are more like me and prefer a cooler climate, a winter wedding is just a perfect choice.
Real winter wedding
We loved Danni and Matt’s wedding (above). They got married in Presteigne and the day was rather cold. We saved the best natural daylight light for the couple. With a little help from the bride’s sister we managed to take all the required formal pictures and then we had our couple photo shoot.

GET IN TOUCH
If you are planning a winter wedding, make sure you keep reading our blog. We have photographed many weddings during winter and we really love them. During the summer we sometimes miss the darkness of the short winter days. So many creative images can be taken during the winter months. Light painting, astro photography, sparklers – all these are so much easier to photograph at a December-February wedding.
