Jo & Will’s Hot Summer Homme House Wedding

Jo & Will’s Homme House wedding was genuinely one of the hottest days we’ve ever photographed – the kind of day that feels like a garden party, a love story, and a proper celebration all at once.

We’re Marta May Photography – also known as The Mays (Marta + Artur), a husband-and-wife duo based in Herefordshire. We shoot in a DOCU-ART way: real, candid moments first, with a handful of relaxed cinematic portraits (no stiff posing, no awkward vibes).

The hottest wedding day at Homme House

Jo & Will’s Homme House wedding was genuinely one of the hottest days of the year. Jo got ready at her family home, then met Will at the altar – and after the ceremony we all headed back to Homme House… in the most joyful way possible.

I know because I was with them. Wind in their hair, champagne in their hands, laughing like kids on the way to the party. It was one of those little in-between moments you can’t plan – and it’s exactly why documentary photography matters. You don’t just remember what it looked like… you remember what it felt like.

One of the most unique parts of the day was a surprise father-daughter dance. Jo and her dad kept it completely secret – even from Jo’s mum and brother – and they dropped it right near the end of the night. The reactions were priceless.

And honestly, this is why we love staying for the dance floor. After the first dance, the timeline stops being “scheduled” and the real celebration begins: carefree joy, big hugs, wild moves, and that beautiful, unscripted chaos that makes the photos feel alive.

About the venue (Homme House)

One of the things we love most about Homme House is how flexible it is – it can shift to match your vibe. You can have your ceremony in the church, in the Summer House, or at the house itself, and each option feels completely different in the best way.

The same goes for the wedding breakfast. Some couples keep it inside the house for a cosy, elegant feel, while others go full garden-party with a marquee. And if you’re dreaming of lawn games, roaming guests, and that relaxed “weekend away” energy – Homme is perfect. It’s one of those venues where people actually move around, laugh loads, and properly enjoy themselves… which is basically documentary photography heaven.

And then there are the gardens. Homme House changes with every season – flowers, plants, colours, textures – and it gives you natural backdrops everywhere you turn. It’s the kind of place where we don’t need to “hunt” for photo spots… they’re just there, all day long.
